I was surprised 5 burners could fit into the same 30" space my previous 4 burner gas cooktop was in. The controls on the front are a safety plus not having to reach my arm potentially across right side burners when using the left burners. No small children in this family, but maybe the closeness to the front counter edge would be an issue. Huge huge bonus is the optional griddle that fits perfectly over the two left burners. The grates also appear to be easier to clean than the ceramic grates (which were light colored and impossible)

So far it looks great and cooks fast. The flame is consistent and low is very low which is nice for simmering. Really like the LED integration to the control nobs. I wish it automatically came with the griddle top!

My cooking experience has changed, because of my new stove top. I am experiencing a more evenly sauce pan heating, I'm able to turn the burners to a very low setting with little effort and my cooking time has lessen due to the even heat.
I would rate it with 5 stars, however the knobs sit a little high and are easily scuffed when moving your pan back and forward.

This is a replacement unit for a previous version of a GE 30" stove top. The igniters are easy to use and the knobs light up so you always know the burner is in use. The grates are very solid and easy to remove and replace.

Very satisfied with the stove and really like the 5 burners. But, if you touch your hot pan on the knobs, which are located in the front, the knobs will melt. Probably better to put the knobs on the side or make knobs that don't melt.

Knobs are plastic, same height as grates - hot pan bottom anywhere near the knobs - the top surface is melted--what happened to the design team - metal knobs and/or lower profile!!! Tried to get modification rebates for both our double oven & cooktop w/o success--agents continued to refuse to approve-sent in invoice for modification & purchase. Finally gave up as too much hassle.

I love having 5 burners but there really isn't enough room to have a large pot on the middle burner as well as one of the sides. I hate that the grates scratch the stainless if you don't set them perfectly down on the bumpers. I love the lights under each knob so you know if it is turned on...great safety feature.

This range was part of our new home in 2018 and we have enjoyed using it. There is one, essentially esthetic issue, that has the potential to become a safety issue in time. With routine cleaning, the printed markings that are below the control knobs have worn away over time. We do not use any abrasives, but simply wipe spills off the stainless steel. While we are familiar with the operation of the range, there is the potential that another party (a guest) or future owner of our home, may have issues operating the range in a safe manner, as these markings continue to disappear from the cooktop, presumably eventually being completely gone. I would suggest that GE consider, first, a more robust production process to imprint these markings on the stainless steel so that they are more durable over the years of expected operation, and second, for folks like us, perhaps offer decals or a similar low cost part, that can be used to replace these markings in time, to restore them to a readable state.

The PLASTIC knobs sit higher than the burner grates. So if you take a hot pan out of the oven and set it on the stove top the knobs will melt.
